Thomas Christiaens focusses on public law and gained specific expertise in public procurement, concessions and public-private partnerships (PPP). In these matters he assists public entities as well as private companies. He has broad experience in, a.o., writing tender documents and decision-making, as well as assisting candidates in the compilation and submission of a tender or providing general advice and assistance throughout proceedings before the civil courts or the Council of State.
Furthermore, Thomas is experienced in the broader scope of public law and the legal framework on civil drones.
Thomas graduated as Master of Laws at Hasselt University in 2014. Earlier, he obtained the degree of Master of Political Sciences (Université de Liège, 2013) and Master of European Law School, LL.M. (Maastricht University, 2012).
He started his career at Monard Law in September 2014. From July 2018 until October 2019, he joined DLA Piper, after which he returned to Monard Law in November 2019. Thomas is a member of the Bar of Antwerp.
From 2016 until 2021 Thomas was appointed as teaching assistant in the Law Faculty of Hasselt University.
