Jan-Laurens Dierickx joined Monard Law in September 2019. He specialises in intellectual property law but also advises clients on general commercial and economic law.
He obtained his master’s degree in law at the KU Leuven. During his studies he attended the University of Zurich for half a year, in the context of a Swiss-European exchange program.
In 2019 he completed cum laude an additional LL.M in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary University of London. During his time in London, Jan-Laurens was specifically committed to the law of the creative industries, focusing on video game law and the law in upcoming sectors such as live-streaming and esports. He graduated with the dissertation ‘The Dangers of IP-controlled Esports’. In this same context, he participated in an international moot court and conference on video game law in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Within the firm, Jan-Laurens is mainly active in the luxury watch, video game, design and automotive industries. He acquired special expertise in anti-counterfeiting cases and is in close contact with national and international customs and police authorities.
Jan-Laurens has been a member of the Brussels Bar since 2019.
