Nicole Segers

Nicole Segers started her traineeship at Monard Law in 2000 as a commercial litigator (mainly for cases concerning distribution and competition law).  Gradually, her areas of focus extended to business law and M&A negotiations (business activities and assets/shares). Nicole guided many clients when they were undergoing their growth phases (partnership agreements or investments) in Belgium and abroad.

In 2007, Nicole Segers became partner at Monard Law. Besides her daily practice in corporate law (disputes and transactional work) and economic law in general at the time, she was enrolled in the Master’s in Corporate Finance programme at KU Leuven.

Nicole mainly assists entrepreneurs, which include family-owned and non-family-owned businesses. She also counsels a wide range of investors, including private equity funds.

For many clients, Nicole is more of a ‘compagnon de route’ (business partner) and regular, trusted advisor than the occasional counsel they turn to. In her role as their business partner, her training as Commercial Mediator proves very useful when parties disagree and when conflicts need to be prevented or resolved.
