Louis Verstraeten advises and assists companies with concluding and terminating business contracts and with any related business litigation before all Belgian courts (in Dutch, French and German language proceedings) and arbitration institutes (in English). With his languages skills and international lawyer network he frequently works in crossborder cases for domestic and international clients in all economic sectors, with a preference for industry and logistics. He has ample experience in liability cases and can assist clients in technical discussions with court surveyors.
Louis developed a specialisation in insolvency law and advises clients on all aspects of insolvency risk, both on the creditor and the debtor side. He advises and assists midsize distressed companies with their reorganisation, via amicable, pre-pack or judicial reorganisation proceedings. He is frequently appointed as bankruptcy administrator by the Antwerp Enterprise Court. International insolvency cases are his nec plus ultra.
Louis is experienced in bringing difficult recovery cases to a good end, if needed by applying conservatory or executory attachment and seizure measures.
