Jente Dengler has extensive experience in assisting various stakeholders in restructuring negotiations and formal insolvency proceedings. He regularly represents clients before the Belgian courts in both insolvency-related disputes (e.g. enforcement of security interests, director’s liability, seizures), as well as corporate and commercial litigation.
After graduating as Master of Laws in 2015 (UGent, magna cum laude), he obtained two more LL.M’s in international insolvency law (Nottingham Law School, distinction, and Radboud University, cum laude). In 2016 he started his career at a Belgian law firm. Afterwards, he was with the international law firm DLA Piper UK LLP for almost 7 years.
Jente is also academically active. He teaches practical courses on insolvency law (University of Leuven), gives seminars and regularly writes for leading national and international insolvency law journals (see publications list in CV).
In 2019, Jente was rewarded by the International Insolvency Institute (‘Gold Medal’) for his research on cross-border restructuring and elected NextGen insolvency practitioner at their annual conference in Barcelona (Spain). In recent years, his expertise has also been consistently recognized by renowned legal rankings (Leaders League 2025 – Restructuring & Insolvency – ‘Highly Recommended’).
He is a voluntary researcher at the Institute of Commercial and Insolvency Law (KUL) and co-author of the ‘Insolvency’ section of the Journal for Belgian Commercial Law (TBH-RDC).
