Jente Dengler

Jente Dengler has extensive experience in assisting various stakeholders during complex restructuring negotiations and formal insolvency proceedings. He represents clients before the Belgian courts in insolvency-related disputes (such as the enforcement of securities, directors’ liability and attachment proceedings) as well as in broader corporate and commercial litigation.

After obtaining his Master of Laws in 2015 (Ghent University, magna cum laude), Jente further specialized with two LL.M. degrees in international insolvency law (Nottingham Law School, distinction; Radboud University, cum laude). He began his career in 2016 and subsequently worked for nearly seven years at the international firm DLA Piper UK LLP, before joining Monard Law.

In addition to his practice, Jente is also active in academia. He teaches practical courses at KU Leuven, regularly speaks at seminars and publishes in leading national and international journals.

In 2019, his research in the field of cross-border restructuring was awarded the ‘Gold Medal’ by the International Insolvency Institute and he was selected for the NextGen Insolvency Program at its annual conference in Barcelona (Spain).

He is a research fellow at the Institute for Commercial and Insolvency Law and is co-author of the ‘Insolvency’ column in the Journal for Belgian Commercial Law (Tijdschrift voor Belgisch Handelsrecht).
