Read moreCharles Claeys obtained a Master of Law from Ghent University in 2012. Since 2012 Charles Claeys is an attorney and admitted to the bar of Ghent. He obtained an additional master’s degree in business law from the University of Antwerp in 2014 (LL.M).
Charles Claeys has an extensive knowledge of business law and especially in commercial law. In addition, he focuses on commercial contract law, trade law and market practices.
Charles Claeys has experience in negotiating and drafting various commercial agreements but also handles all kinds of corporate and commercial litigation for clients from various (often regulated) industries.
Charles Claeys works for startups and scaleups as well as larger companies.
In addition, Charles Claeys also provides in-house operational legal support through short and long term secondments, allowing clients to receive fast and flexible assistance in their daily legal workload. In particular Charles Claeys has experience giving legal support in the hospitality industry, doing legal work for major catering and restaurant groups.
Charles Claeys has also published several legal articles on these disciplines and is a member of the editorial board of RABG (partial editorial board for contract and property law).
Since 2020, Charles Claeys has been recognised by the Federale Bemiddelingscommissie (Federal Mediation Commission) as a mediator in national and international conflicts.
