Pieter Helsen specialises in criminal law (economic criminal law as well as general criminal law) and criminal proceedings.
Pieter Helsen has a law degree (Catholic University of Leuven, 1997). He has been practising law at Monard Law since 1997 and has been a partner since September 2007. In addition, he worked part-time for six years (1998-2004), at the Catholic University of Leuven Criminal Law Institute as assistant researcher in criminal proceedings law. He has been a lecturer in criminal law and criminal proceedings at the Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg since 2004 till 2014.
Pieter Helsen speaks and writes regularly on matters relating to criminal law and criminal proceedings law. He is a member of the Limburg bar.
He acted as a lawyer in the Ronald Janssen, Aquino, Fipronil and Reuzegom cases, among others.
