Marie-Hélène Jacquemin, previously heading the employment law practices of respectively EY Law and Simmons & Simmons in Belgium, joined the employment law practice of Monard Law Brussels that, only last year, welcomed the team of employment law partner Bert Theeuwes. Both of them will further develop the employment law practice and pursue the firm’s ambition to become Belgium’s number one integrated employment practice.
Marie-Hélène brings over 20 years of experience working for international law firms. Her practice covers all aspects of employment and social security law. She also has specific experience in advising on employment law issues arising in the context of local and international company restructuring including internal reorganizations, collective dismissals, closures, business transfers, mergers and acquisitions.
Marie-Hélène stated to be very excited to join Monard Law: “Following nearly 25 years of experience within international networks such as EY Law and Simmons & Simmons, I very much look forward to assist in developing an employment practice, which is locally driven, qualitative and decisive. I cannot wait to start and be part of this ambitious team”.
Brussels based employment law partner Bert Theeuwes commented that he is particularly looking forward to her arrival: “Marie-Hélène is not only an excellent lawyer, she is also a very nice person to work with. Her experience, attention to detail and genuine interest in the clients’ cares and concerns will be much appreciated by our clients. Her language capabilities and eagerness to take the lead in developing our ambitions on the French speaking market, both nationally and internationally, are inspiring”.
Monard Law CEO, Karen Braeckmans, could not be more happy: “She brings complementary experiences to our employment team and makes the Monard Law employment team one of the biggest teams within a full service firm in Belgium.”
