Monard LAW advises on the largest PPP transaction of the year for the new headquarters of the Antwerp Police

Monard Law advised BNP Paribas Fortis, Belfius Bank and KBC Bank as lenders in the EUR +100 million public private partnership (PPP) project for the new headquarters building of the Antwerp Police Department.

The project involves the design, building, financing, maintenance and operation (DBFMO) of the new police headquarters building along the Antwerp ring road. The project will be developed by IRET, one of Belgium’s major real estate development companies.

Belgium’s largest PPP transaction of the year, achieved financial close on14 November 2017.

The Monard Law team was led by Benoit Samyn (head of PPP) and Bram Delmotte (Project Finance), and consisted of Koen Geelen (Environmental law), Wouter Moonen (Public Procurement) and Jasmina Sadek (PPP contracts).
