Els Verdonck graduated in 1992 as Master of Law (University of Ghent). She was a member of the Bar of Ghent for 5 years and active in an office with exclusive specialization in social law.
After 5 years Els made the transition to the business world. For 15 years she worked in a multinational environment where she fulfilled several roles. She started as legal advisor of the Group for which she worked and after a few years she became Human Resources Director of the Group. She was mainly involved in the legal side of HR tasks.
Throughout this period she remained true to her roots, and social law was and remained her passion. Els has been a member of the Ghent Bar again since 1 October 2013 and has been a member of Monard Law ever since.
Els advises clients in all areas of social law. At the client’s request, she drafts letters, collective agreements, all kinds of agreements and clauses, policies and regulations.
At the client’s request, she negotiates with the other party in order to reach an amicable settlement and also takes an active part in the negotiations with the trade unions prior to the conclusion of a corporate collective labour agreement.
She has an extensive knowledge of protected employees and social elections.
Through her years of experience as both lawyer and HR manager, she has a broad knowledge of many domains within social law.
